Hidde van Seggelen Gallery

I have recently finished development work on the new Hidde van Seggelen Gallery website. This wonderful site was designed by Karolin Schnoor to feel relatively simple, but show the vast array of artists the gallery represents.

I worked closely with Jeffrey Shield throughout the project, who managed the projects development as well as designing the the look of the site on iPhone and iPad.

I was the only developer on this project and my work spanned from building the front end to match the designs, to integrating a content management system into the site to make it easily updatable. The site uses WordPress as its CMS as this provides an excellent interface for the user to update content, and allowed me to utilise the Custom Post Type functionality to build extra sections within the CMS to make it as simple as possible to add new content.

I also had to make sure the site was viewable on iPhones and iPads and matched the designs. I did this using media queries to apply styles based on the screen size of the user, this was especially interesting for me as I had never done any work specifically for mobile before.
